Why the store matters
A Tesla referral link is not one universal address. The code at the end is the owner's, but the part in front picks a country's store: tesla.com/referral/ is the United States, tesla.com/en_gb/referral/ the United Kingdom, tesla.com/de_de/referral/ Germany, and Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg have one store per language. Open a link made for another country and you configure in that country's store, in its currency, with its benefit — which is usually where an order quietly stops. Link not working?

- You've already ordered
Tesla's terms don't allow a link to be added afterwards.
- “Referral limit has been reached”
That owner used up their referrals for the year. Use a different link.
- Wrong country's store
Foreign currency, foreign benefit. Same code, your store's link.
- Opened inside an app
Instagram, WhatsApp and similar open links in their own browser. Order in the same one, or reopen in your real browser.
- Not your first Tesla
Buyer benefits are for a first qualifying Tesla product only.
Own a Tesla? Share yours properly
Send the link from the Tesla app (menu → Refer and Earn → Refer Now), not just the code — nobody can type a code into Tesla's checkout. If your friend lives in another country, send them the link for their store: the router does that conversion for any code, including yours. Questions
Is a Tesla referral link the same as a referral code?
The code is the last part of the link — the CODE in tesla.com/referral/CODE. On its own it does nothing: Tesla's order flow has no box to type it into. The referral attaches only when you open the link and order from there. That's why every copy button on this site copies the whole link.
Is there a Tesla promo code or discount code instead?
Not for the car. Tesla's checkout has no field for one. What Tesla offers first-time buyers through owners is the referral benefit, attached by opening a referral link before ordering. Sites listing "codes" for Tesla are usually showing accessory-shop deals or referral links under another name.
Does it matter which country's link I use?
Yes. Tesla runs a separate referral store per country — the US one has no country segment, the UK one is /en_gb/, Germany /de_de/, and so on. Open a link for the wrong store and you land in a foreign store, prices in a foreign currency. Pick the store you'll actually order and register the car in. See every store.
Can I add a referral link after I've ordered?
No. Tesla's terms say referral links "cannot be credited after the order is placed" (Tesla's Refer and Earn support page (effective Aug 24, 2024, updated Feb 24, 2026; read Jun 15, 2026)). If you've already ordered, see what's still possible.
What do I get with a referral link?
It depends on the store, and Tesla changes it. Tesla's own pages showed: US — 3 months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) (Model Y, Model 3, Cybertruck (Premium AWD and Cyberbeast), seen Oct 2, 2026); UK — 650 free Supercharging miles (seen Oct 4, 2026); Germany — 1,000 km of free Supercharging (seen Oct 1, 2026).
